Turning Point: Student Interview
Leslie Mercado, Age 11, 6th Grade
* My sister's turning point is
when she chose not to go to devry University instead of going to community
college first, because you pay less and I learned from her to take my time and
study at college. But then she dropped out of school to work more. Then a little
year’s more I can go to ASU. To achieve a successful career as a Doctor I also,
want to make my family happy, and because I’m the first one to actually do the
right thing even though I’m the youngest. I’ll stay in college instead of drop
out like her. She was embarrassed because when she was younger this program
wasn’t around. So she coached me on what to do.
