*Turning Point:
There are many turning points’ in a person’s life. Beginning a
new school, whether in kindergarten, high school or college, these are turning
points. Becoming a part of the work force, moving to another city or state,
marriage, and death of a loved one; all are turning points. For as long as I can
remember I have been ambitious and competitive, even to a fault.
After recovering from a traumatic accident and realizing the fresh new start at life I
had before me, I wondered what the “phrase never give up” meant.
Is there only one definition? Is it about knowing and believing in myself? Or is it
about fully occupying my attention to something I enjoy doing? During my search
for life's purpose, I have discovered that there are four ways for me to find
meaning in life. Through belonging, doing, experiencing, and understanding
myself and the world around me, I have also discovered what having meaning in life
represents to me.
Since I was 17 years old I’ve been on my own. I headed to Chicago from Detroit to be a
model in search of me. When that became more of a burden instead of filling a
void, I took off to the Big Apple- New York City. In search to find myself; yet
again I found nothing. Since then I’m here in Arizona, I’ve had plenty of jobs,
careers, experiences, friendships, and heartaches.
I try to excel or even over do many things in order to try to control my happiness
level. Happiness is an inside job. (William Arthur Ward) it’s amazing how big of an impact
on the world one can create. My turning point is being born because; I’ve always started
something but never finished something. By me being imperfect and realizing; makes me a
perfect specimen of what to do, and what not to do. No matter what I think of myself today
and how I feel tomorrow. There’s no telling what u can do because tomorrow isn’t here yet.
Life goes on and you never really give up, unless you’re dead!
